New York State Police Car 3

CATSKILL - An Amsterdam woman was killed in a Friday crash on the Thruway in the town of Catskill, New York State Police said Tuesday.

Police identified the woman killed as Regina Levine, 66, of Amsterdam. She was taken to Albany Medical Center in critical condition and died of her injuries Monday, police said.

Troopers responded to the one-car rollover crash at about 6:41 p.m. Friday on the northbound Thruway in Greene County.

The crash happened in the area of mile marker 108.9, between Exit 20 and Exit 21, Saugerties and Catskill, police said.

The preliminary investigation determined Levine's Ford Escape was traveling northbound in the passing lane when, for an unknown reason, it exited the roadway, went through the guiderail, struck an earth embankment and overturned, police said.

Levine was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, police said.

The crash remained under investigation Tuesday, police said.
